Model Car Building, 1/25 Scale, Polystyrene Updated 22 Dec 2022
This site is dedicated to 1/25 Scale Styrene Model Car building. I started this site on Sept 9, 2017 after nearly 40 years of not touching models (but they were safely (mostly), stored away. I don't know how many builders there are now. Quite a few when I was a lad in school.
Here is a Gallery (click on Gallery, 3 bars at the top left of header of this page) of finished models and a section on "How To" for those who want to get into it (or get into it again). I provide a little info on my site if you click on About. Click on3 bars in the top left of the header, sub pages will appear to click on.
Note that this website does not do well on Cell Phones. A bigger screen is better. I have a 5" screen on my android and it is barley acceptable to view pictures. And only in landscape (horizontal) viewing. Looks fine on my 10" tablet. My 7" is broken so I will need to wait to see what that will look like. Be aware that I use metric and English measurements as I need them. If you don't understand it, look it up on google. They will be labeled correctly (I hope).
Below are Chevy 427, 327, 409, 283 and 350 cubic inch engines.
Update, doneKeep checking back as I am still adding stuff. I will eventually start adding cars as I (re)gain experience. Click on About/Site Updates to see latest additions to site. And click on About/Contact to email me.
The first project is 61 Falcon Ranchero. This is a warm-up project so I can get re-used to spray painting and other mods I try on a model I am not particularly interested in it. Click on How To. NEW: The Falcon is DONE, more or less. I have completed as much as I want for now. It is in need of some updating and enhancements but I am tired of it for now. I added some "Final" photos in the Gallery. Now I work on a 55 Nomad (see Gallery) nearly done. Update: Done. ToDo List: The real cars I had (or still have) owned and the models of them I want to to build. I have all the model kits but the Vette ; Update, I now have the kit. I would like to build an 86 Samurai but they are too costly. 58 Vette (My favorite) 56 Nomad (2nd Favorite) 57 1/2 ton truck (big window) 64 Camino (should have kept 71) My 56 2 door sedan 57 Ford 2 door sedan (my 1st hotrod) 72 Vega fastback (with 327) and 3rd favorite I Also have lots of other models to finish that I collected or started years ago. I may build other cars before these. Like my brothers 56 Sedan, or the 55 Nomad. And you can check my other website; www.4freeideas.weebly.com Or my daughters; www.mayzart.com Thanks for looking, Gary |
